On Friday the 29th of January 2016 ten Fifth Class teams representing different schools in our area took part in the Junior Dragon's Den  competition.  It took place in the Finn Valley College, Stranorlar.

Two teams represented our school took part in the competition.

Caoimhe Burke, Ella McMullin, Keiva McMonagle, Catherine McGirr, Ashleigh O' Kane and Samantha-Rose Bradley represented Ms. Mc Nulty's Fifth Class.

Oran Doherty, Stephen Barron, Oskar Sprengel, Cahir Brady Devenney, Ava Curran and Casey Thompson represented Ms. Doherty's Fifth Class.

Ms.Mc Nulty's pupils presented a product called “HAY-VEN” which is a product that keeps hay dry and thus saves farmers time and money.

Ms.Doherty's pupils presented a product called “The Little Girl Cash Carrier” which is a girl-shaped portable money box that cannot be stolen.

The entrepreneurs began the day with some ice-breakers with Mr Mc Daid. After that they had a talk with our mentors who were local business people.

After a quick snack we presented our products to the jugdes.

Peter Casey - Dragon's Den, Michael Margey - LYIT and

Donna Maskery - The Base.  Our teams did our school proud by demonstrating excellent public speaking skills and creativity and imagination in creating such innovative products.

After we gave our “pitch” each team faced tough questions from the panel of judges. We impressed everyone with our ability to answer so well under pressure.

After a few games with Mr.Mc Daid they announced the winners.

It was a great experience and we all had a wonderful day.
