Strabane Féis 2017

On Thursday 9th and Friday 10th March, the very  talented children from Ms Moy and Mrs Flanagan's Classes took to the stage in St.Patrick's Hall, Strabane, to compete in this year's Strabane Féis.

On Thursday afternoon, the boys from Ms. Moy's and Mrs Flanagan's classes competed in their verse speaking competition, reciting "I did not eat the Goldfish". A high standard was on show, and the boys performed wonderfully.

 

Over the two boys competition, St.Mary's received

  • Nine Highly Commended certificates. Eoin Hayden, Séan McGranaghan, Charlie Lyon-Boyle, Aleks Kurakins, Odhrán McBrearty, Kyle Nicolson-Porter, Milosz Tarabura, Edwin Jolly and Dylan Patton.
  • Seven 3rd Place awards: Steven Boyle, Jaden Raphael Dela Cruz, Noah McIvor, Joshua Kiely, Noah Boyle, Daimhin Byrne, Darragh Roarty and Joe Fagan.
  • three 2nd Place awards: Conrad Cassidy-Forde, Joshua Myles and Erikas Brazdeikis.
 
The Girls Competition were extremely well represented, and a very high standard was once again on show on both Thursday and Friday evenings, reciting their poem "Bedtime".
 
Over the two girls' competitions, St.MAry's were rewarded with:
  • Six Highly Commended certificates: Elise Chambers, Casey-Lee Hegarty, Kayla Merrit_Hill, Ashleigh Lafferty, Leona Kennedy and Deirbhile Irwin.
  • Three 3rd Place awards: Julia Kokoszka, Abbie O'Brien McGlinchey and Madison McDermott.
  • Four 2nd Place awards: Zara Thompson, Gabriella Hartnett, Naomh Curran and Derbhlá Bogle
  • one 1st Prize award to Roisín Thompson
On Friday morning, with an early call for the bus, Ms. Moy's and Mrs. Flanagan's classes headed off once again to compete in the Choral Verse competition.
 
Ms. Moy's class took to the stage first, and performed the hilarious poem "Our Teacher's a football fanatic" brilliantly.
 
Lastly, Mrs. Flanagan's Class performed the comical anecdotal poem "Daddy fell into the pond" with great flair.
 
To huge delight, Ms.Moy's Class were awarded joint 2nd place and Mrs Flanagan's Class won 1st Prize, receiving a beautiful trophy for all their hard work.
 
A huge Thank you to Ms.Moy, Mrs. Flanagan, Maríosa Crawford and Ms. Gallinagh for all their hard work, and for accompanying the children to Strabane.
 
A super achievement, and a great time was had by all.
