by Ella Mc Mullin, Caoimhe Burke and Ryan Gillespie.

The ceremony began with Mrs Mc Nulty welcoming us all and thanking everyone for joining us on this very special day. Then Fr.Kieran McAteer led us all in prayer followed by the Senior classes singing "Mo Ghile Mear".

Sally and Amy-Lee read out an introduction in Irish and English. Sarah read out the story of the Proclamation with the help of a few special guests who signed the Proclamation, Padraig Pearse, Joseph Plunkett, Eamon Kent, Tomas MacDonagh, James Connolly, Thomas Clarke and Sean Mc Diarmada.

Our special guest Sgt Kieran Crawford and Caitlin read the Proclamation. Daniel read on extract from the poem "Easter 1916" by W.B.Yeats while Samantha-Rose played a tune on the harp. Before the flag was raised by Nina from Junior Infants and Cian from 6th Class.

Our Principal Mr.Keating thanked everyone for attending and for all the hard work done by everyone to make this day happen. The flag was then raised in a moment of silence. Then we concluded the ceremony with the entire school singing "Amhran na bhFiann".

The staff and children remained in costume for the rest of the day. When the children arrived back in the classrooms special tri-colour buns made by Joyce were waiting for them there.
